America's Cultural Revolution
How the Radical Left Conquered Everything
By Christopher F. Rufo
“There is a rot spreading through American life” says Christopher F. Rufo, the activist and journalist at the forefront of uncovering critical race theory being taught in American classrooms. “The country’s foundations are starting to shake loose. A new nihilism is beginning to surround the common citizen in all of the institutions that matter: his government, his workplace, his church, his children’s school, even his home” Rufo continues.
In America’s Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything (Broadside Books; on sale 7/18), Rufo exposes how these institutions were infiltrated by left-wing intellectuals and militants who slowly and methodically captured our core foundations, with the goal of subverting them from within.
Recent examples of corporations denouncing the United States as a “system of white supremacy,” universities pushing racially segregated programs that forced students to address their racial and sexual “privilege,” and schools injecting critical race theory in the classroom, dividing children into “oppressor” and “oppressed” are aplenty. In this deeply researched and stunning exposé, Rufo adeptly tracks the origins of this new nihilism that threatens to overwhelm the country.
With profiles of Herbert Marcuse, Angela Davis, Paulo Freire, and Derrick Bell, Rufo shows how activists have profoundly influenced American culture with an insidious mix of Marxism and racialist ideology. They’ve replaced “equality” with “equity,” and convinced millions of Americans that racism is endemic in all of society to advance their ultimate goal of replacing the constitution with a race-based redistribution regime, administered by “diversity and inclusion” commissars. The pamphlets of the Weather Underground, Black Panther Party, and Black Liberation Army have been sanitized and adopted as the official ideology of America’s prestige institutions such as Ivy League universities and the corporate boardrooms of Wal-Mart, Disney, and Bank of America.
