About this Project
The American Conservatism and Governing Fellowship brings together mid-career public-service professionals to study the core ideas, texts, and governing principles of the American conservative tradition.

Through two intensive, four-day, in-person seminars led by senior fellow Andy Smarick and seasoned conservative policy practitioners, fellows engage deeply with the philosophical foundations of American conservatism and explore how those principles inform real-world policymaking. Participants continue their current roles while completing substantial readings and taking part in rigorous, screen-free discussions. Open to individuals of any political background, the fellowship offers a rare opportunity to gain a serious, structured understanding of conservative thought and its relevance to effective, principled governance.
