Shaun M. Dougherty

Shaun M. Dougherty is an assistant professor of education policy and leadership at the Neag School of Education and an affiliated faculty member in the Department of Public Policy at the University of Connecticut. His work focuses on applied quantitative analysis of education policies and programs, including career and technical education, with an emphasis on how pre-K–12 policies and programs affect the equity of student outcomes. Dougherty’s writings have appeared in the Journal of Research on Educational Effectiveness, Education Evaluation and Policy Analysis, and Education Finance and Policy.

A former high school math teacher and assistant principal, Dougherty holds a doctorate in quantitative policy analysis from Harvard University, an M.S. in educational administration from Gwynedd Mercy University, and a B.S. in mathematics and economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
