Kevin Wallsten

Kevin Wallsten is an Adjunct Fellow at the Manhattan Institute, where his work focuses on higher education reform and the City Journal College Rankings. Wallsten is a Professor of Political Science at California State University, Long Beach, and former president of the American Political Science Association’s Section on Information Technology and Politics. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his research focuses on American elections, public opinion, political communication, social and mass media, and race and ethnic politics. He is the co-author of Politics of the Pill (Oxford University Press, 2019) and has published more than 30 scholarly articles in leading outlets across these fields. His work has also appeared in public forums such as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The Hill. He frequently serves as a political analyst for regional and national media, including ABC 7 News Los Angeles, CBS News Los Angeles, and KNX News Radio.
