Charles C. Branas
Charles C. Branas is professor of epidemiology and chairman of the Department of Epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. His research on the geography and factors underpinning gun violence has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court and Congress. Branas has also led large-scale scientific work that has shown how the remediation of vacant lots, abandoned buildings, and other blighted spaces can improve public health and safety.
