Marketing Analytics and Martech Manager

About the Role

MI is seeking an experienced Marketing Analytics and Martech professional to lead the design and implementation of MI’s marketing analytics initiatives to enable measurement and reporting, campaign and funnel optimization, user segmentation, and development of personalized communication streams. The person in this role will foster a strong collaboration with our tech team to ensure that everything from the selection of tools to asset instrumentation is done in a scalable yet agile manner. The successful candidate will have deep familiarity with marketing funnels and analyses that can help drive cross-channel and content optimization. In addition, this person will lead the process of identifying user segments, designing user flows, and implementing personalized experiences using marketing automation tools.

This individual will report to the VP, Marketing, work closely with Content Strategy, and regularly interface with all key teams at Manhattan Institute and City Journal brands.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain up-to-date instrumentation/tagging across all web and mobile properties, expanding them as new business needs arise
  • Design and issue comprehensive marketing performance reports across specific channels and in integrated form
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase KPIs across the funnel, and collaborate with content team and paid marketing agency to implement them correctly
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to track their reporting needs and incorporate them into the marketing roadmap according to the organization’s priorities
  • Define business rules to segment users based on cross-channel behavioral data, and build segmented user flows in selected marketing automation tool
  • Maintain a high level of customer service, authority, and professionalism to all business units and vendors

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with marketing analytics/reporting and the concept of funnel optimization Strong analytical and communication skills, with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Superb collaboration skills
  • Fluency in Excel, PPT, GA. Experience with Tableau and Piano a plus Experience building and operating programs in marketing automation platforms (such as Hubspot, Marketo, Sailthru, Virtuous or Active Campaign)
  • Familiarity with MI’s public policy work, alignment with its mission, and enthusiasm for seeing it through

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $90,000-$110,000/year, based on experience and skills.
