President Ronald Reagan once said, "Freedom is never more than one generation from extinction." In her latest book, American Individualism: How a New Generation of Conservatives Can Save the Republican Party (Crown Forum) Margaret Hoover calls for Republicans to embrace a conservatism that emphasizes individual freedom both in economic and social policy in order to appeal to the new generation of voters.

On October 5 Ms. Hoover joined the Young Leaders Circle to advocate for a conservatism that is consistent with her great-grandfather's values of civic responsibility and service to others, as well as the original impulses of the American conservative movement. She discussed solutions for not only strengthening the Republican Party, but for America as a whole.
