James Q. Wilson former professor at Harvard and UCLA

James Wilson is a recipient of the nation’s highest civilian award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and has written influential works on the nature of human morality, government, and criminal justice issues. A noted social commentator and former professor at Harvard and UCLA, his books include Varieties of Police Behavior: The Management of Law and Order in Eight Communities, The Moral Sense, and The Marriage Problem: How Our Culture Has Weakened Families.

Professor Wilson’s comments are always noteworthy, and his appearances are memorable occasions for the Manhattan Institute. The title of Professor Wilson’s talk this year, “Why Is America More Religious than Europe?” promises another thought-provoking session. Professor Wilson will also explore with us how religion affects American politics.
