Trumponomics Inside The America First Plan To Revive Our Economy
In 2016, Donald Trump promised a transformative change in economic policy after eight years of stagnation under Barack Obama. Trump, however, did not adopt a conventional left or right agenda, but instead embraced a new economic populism that combines conventional Republican ideas—tax cuts, deregulation, federalism—with traditional Democratic ones, such as trade protectionism and infrastructure spending.
Few people understand “Trumponomics”—and its prospects for long-run success—better than Stephen Moore and Arthur Laffer, who served as senior economic advisors to Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, and who continue to meet with the president regularly as members of the Trump Advisory Council. In Trumponomics: Inside the America First Plan to Revive Our Economy, Moore and Laffer offer an insider’s view of how President Trump operates in public and behind closed doors, his priorities and passions, and his greatest attributes and liabilities.
Stephen Moore is the Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Heritage Foundation and an economic-policy analyst for CNN. Previously, he was a member of the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board, founder and president of the Club for Growth, and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. Moore holds a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.A. from George Mason University.
