Speakers

Randy Barnett Georgetown University
Richard Epstein New York University
Adam White Hoover Institution

On September 7, three of America's leading legal scholars joined the Manhattan Institute for a panel discussion on the future of federal courts. The conversation was moderated by James R. Copland, senior fellow and director of legal policy.

With Neil Gorsuch now seated on the Supreme Court—and with the prospect that more Trump nominees may follow in his wake—conservatives and libertarians are anxiously eying opportunities to correct longstanding errors in federal jurisprudence. What are those errors? And how can they be overcome?

Randy Barnett is the Carmack Waterhouse Professor of Legal Theory at Georgetown University and a leading authority on Commerce Clause jurisprudence.
Richard Epstein is the Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law and Director of the Classical Liberal Institute at New York University. An MI visiting scholar, Epstein is one of America's most cited law professors.
Adam White is a City Journal contributing editor, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution, and director of the Center for the Study of the Administrative State at George Mason University.
