Right Time, Right Place: Coming of Age with William F. Buckley Jr. and the Conservative Movement

10
Wednesday June 2009

Speakers

Richard Brookhiser Senior Editor, National Review

Richard Brookhiser started writing for National Review at the age of 14 and went on to write for Bill Buckley for almost 40 years. Ultimately, Brookhiser became Buckley’s heir apparent, and Bill became very much a father figure to Brookhiser. But like many mentor/protégé relationships, over time theirs became complicated. No one is better suited to reflecting on the legacy and the limitations of the godfather of modern American conservatism than Richard Brookhiser.
