Manhattan Institute Luncheon Forum with Governor Mitt Romney

12
Monday September 2005

Speakers

Governor Mitt Romney Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Mitt Romney has been widely recognized for his achievements as a turnaround specialist in the business world and as the savior of the scandal-plagued 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Today, as Governor, he has continued to gain national prominence.

In 1984, Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful capital and investment companies. As President and CEO of the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee, he erased a $379 million operating deficit, organized 23,000 volunteers, and shortly after 9/11, oversaw an unprecedented security mobilization to ensure public safety while leading one of the most successful Olympics in history.

Since taking office in 2002, Governor Romney has applied his management experience to increase government productivity, eliminate government waste, and streamline government in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Governor Romney will share his views on meeting our current economic challenges; extending healthcare coverage by creating innovative affordable health insurance products; and developing new strategies for improving homeland security.
