Drew Thornley Author, Energy and the Environment: Myths and Facts

Establishing a sound energy policy that continues to fuel economic growth and protect the environment is a priority for Congress and the White House. But are they basing the policy on facts? Many of the beliefs Americans and policymakers hold as truth about our energy needs and capital are simply myths.

On Monday, April 20th, the Manhattan Institute will release a new report, “Energy and the Environment: Myths and Facts” by Drew Thornley, revealing the public perception of energy issues and separating fact from fiction. The Manhattan Institute, along with Zogby International, polled 1,000 Americans about basic facts relating to energy policy. The poll results reveal that many widely held beliefs about energy and our environment are largely incorrect – a serious problem as the country’s leaders implement policy prescriptions.
