About the Author

Thomas Hazlett was born in Los Angeles, attended UCLA, and became an economist and writer. His work focuses on the evolution and regulation of the communications sector. He has held faculty positions at U.C. Davis, George Mason, and the Wharton School, and currently holds the H.H. Macaulay Endowed Chair in Economics at Clemson University. He has previously served as Chief Economist of the Federal Communications Commission, and has written for many academic journals and law reviews, as well as popular publications such as the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the New Republic, Reason, Slate, Time and Business Week.
