There’s no dancing around it: Donald Trump remains the standard-bearer of the Republican Party. But Nikki Haley is showing us her best moves.
Ms. Haley was a popular governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017 and comported herself well as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during the Trump administration. She previously said she wouldn’t run for president if it meant challenging Mr. Trump for the nomination. The former president announced his candidacy in November. Ms. Haley apparently changed her mind and announced her own bid last week.
