If You Like Your Plan, Too Bad.
A central promise of the Affordable Care Act was "if you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period." However, since the program's rollout at the beginning of October, it has become clear
that many Americans are being dropped from their plans by their insurance providers.
This should not surprise anyone, especially the government. On June 17, 2010, the Administration projected that up to 69 percent of employer plans and over 67 percent of individual plans would be terminated by 2013 because of the loss of their grandfathered status.
These projections mean that since 2010, the government has expected between 71 million and 125 million people to be dropped from their health insurance plans by the end of 2013 because of the Affordable Care Act.
