NYC: Reborn Summit

Thursday October 2021

New York City is no stranger to crises. After 9/11 and the 2008 financial crisis, Gotham bounced back much faster than people thought possible. Yet much has changed in the years since, from the rise of remote work to the fall of the SALT deduction. And even as the city reopens, a barren midtown and fears about Covid variants point to big post-pandemic challenges. How can New York restore its promise as an engine of upward mobility?

A robust economy and broad-based prosperity, strong public safety and quality of life, and a transportation system that works for all New Yorkers—these are just some of the essential ingredients to the Big Apple’s recovery. On October 28th, the Manhattan Institute is hosting a summit with leaders in every one of these pillars of growth.

This signature event continues MI’s work through its New York City: Reborn initiative, advancing policy ideas that make the city’s future safer and richer in opportunity for everyone.
