New York's Tomorrow: A Conference Devoted to a Special Issue of City Journal
New York State and New York City have long been dependent on tax revenues from Wall Street. Today, with the economy reeling, financial-sector revenues plummeting, and unprecedented deficits on the horizon, fiscal meltdown has become a frightening possibility. How can New York overcome this crisis and re-create itself to be competitive in the twenty-first century?
To address this question, City Journal is publishing a special issue, entitled “New York’s Tomorrow.” Featuring the best thinkers and writers on the state and city, it will provide a blueprint for a prosperous, thriving New York. Please join us on Tuesday, July 7th, to hear contributors E. J. McMahon, Heather Mac Donald, Sol Stern, and Edward Glaeser present their policy prescriptions for energizing the economy, preserving the social order, and fixing the schools.
